Hamilton vows all-out chase to catch Rosberg

Cape Town - Lewis Hamilton promised to pull out all the stops in his bid to win the drivers’ championship this year as he faces a gulf between himself and first-placed Nico Rosberg.

Lewis Hamilton is 33 points behind his Mercedes teammate after the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka and Nico Rosberg can claim the championship with three second placings and a third from the four races remaining.

Hamilton vowed to attack for the remainder of the season, with this weekend being the United States Grand Prix.

"We've got four races left to make the most of it and that's exactly what I plan to do," Hamilton said.

"It's just about hitting every race weekend as hard as I can, going all out for every win and seeing what happens from there. I'll be holding nothing back out there."

Hamilton has won three of the four races staged at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

"First up, we're back in the States, which is like a second home race for me these days,” Hamilton said.

“I love the country, the culture, the people and the track, so I can't wait to get started. I've got some great memories from Austin, with three wins from four races and, of course, the title win last year."

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff said he hoped the title would be decided on the track and not by mechanical issues with their cars.

“Our priority over the coming weeks is to give both our boys the best possible chance of winning the remaining four races,” Wolff said.

“The pressure is on to ensure that their battle is decided man-to-man, and hopefully wheel-to-wheel, on the race track."
