PUMA extends BMW deal

Herzogenaurach - PUMA has extended its partnership with BMW Motorsport, announcing a multi-year renewal of its contract with the global motorsport brand.

This new agreement sees PUMA continue as the Official Supplier of Team and Racewear for all BMW Motorsport racing operations including DTM, high profile long-distance races such as the 24hr of Daytona of the newly formed United States and Canadian racing series USCC.

As part of this new agreement, PUMA has also renewed its relationship with BMW Motorsport as The Official and Exclusive License Partner for footwear, apparel and accessories for BMW Motorsport and BMW M.

All licensing components include worldwide rights for lifestyle, fan and replica products within these categories.

As the Official Team and Racewear supplier, PUMA branding will be prominent on all BMW Motorsport racing cars and all Race and Teamwear for BMW Motorsport technical staff. BMW drivers including DTM champion Marco Wittmann and USCC driver Andy Priaulx, will wear PUMA race wear with the latest innovations in fireproof technology.

BMW Motorsport is PUMA’s longest standing partner in Motorsport, with the relationship dating back to 2004 when PUMA partnered with the BMW Williams Formula One team.

Following BMW’s re-emergence in Motorsport in 2012, PUMA joined forces once again with the brand to establish this successful relationship.

Björn Gulden, Chief Executive Officer for PUMA said: “Since BMW’s return to DTM in 2012, it has proven itself as one of the most successful racing operations and we are excited to continue our relationship with them."

"BMW Motorsport remains a core part of our Sports Marketing portfolio in Motorsport with increasing commercial potential through the global licensing components we have in place.

"As we continue our mission to become the Fastest Sports Brand in the World, we are very happy to have renewed this agreement.”

Jens Marquardt, BMW Motorsport Director comments: “We are really pleased to continue our successful partnership with PUMA, it’s an exciting time to be working with the brand under their new Forever Faster brand platform.

"BMW Motorsport has a great brand fit with PUMA and there’s a clear synergy between both companies."

"As a global sports brand, PUMA has a clear strength in delivering both performance wear for our drivers and teams and lifestyle products inspired by BMW Motorsport for the fans.”
