Paris - Underfire Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel found an ally in fellow German Boris Becker on Sunday with the tennis legend defending his compatriot's controversial Malaysian Grand Prix win.
Vettel defied team orders by over-taking Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber to snatch victory at Sepang in a move widely-condemned from within and outside the sport.
But Becker sprang to Vettel's defence, describing his actions as the mark of a true champion.
"Just watched the highlights of Malaysian Grand Prix! Vettel did what a 3times champ is supposed to do....take matters in ur own hand !," Becker wrote on Twitter.
