Obama says golf score 'classified'

Rancho Mirage - United States President Barack Obama joked on Tuesday that his golf score was classified, after he played one of the world's toughest courses.

Obama on Saturday tested skills gleaned from hundreds of presidential golf outings at PGA West's notoriously fiendish TPC Stadium Course, in La Quinta, California.

Obama described it as a "very nice course. Very difficult."

The course has been described as "unplayable" and was dropped off the PGA Tour for years because it was considered too difficult.

It has frequently been used to test golfers hoping to qualify for the tour.

Obama, who plays most weekends during good weather, took on the challenge, but would not say how he did.

"My score is classified," he joked.

Little is known about Obama's golfing ability and, unlike previous presidents, the media rarely gets a glimpse of him playing.
