Johnstone shocked by Westner's death

Cape Town - Veteran former golfer Tony Johnstone has expressed his shock at the news of death of Wayne Westner.

According to police reports, Westner took his own life after a hostage drama involving his wife at his home on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast on Wednesday morning.

He was 55.

Johnstone, who boasts 17 Sunshine Tour wins and 25 worldwide victories in total, and, like Westner, is a two-time former SA Open winner, took to Twitter to express his shock.

So shocked to hear of the death of Wayne Westner, double former winner of SA Open and winner of Dubai Desert Classic. RIP Westy, Johnstone wrote.
