Orlando - Sir Nick Faldo announced on Tuesday the inaugural Major Champions Invitational, to be played March 12-14, 2018 at Bella Collina in Montverde, Florida.
Hosted by World Golf Hall of Fame member Faldo, the 2018 Major Champions Invitational will be supported by major champions providing juniors, male or female, with a one-of-a-kind competition experience.
An extension of the Faldo Series, the Major Champions Invitational will embody the same overall mission; to give opportunities to young people through golf, and help identify the next generation of champions.
"I'm incredibly excited about hosting the Major Champions Invitational, and about the players who have committed to support the event," said Faldo.
"This event will allow major champions to give something back to the game that has given them so much, and hopefully, in time, it will become one of the most elite junior golf events in the world."
In addition to Faldo, South Africa's Ernie Els is one of the Major champions, who has committed his support to Faldo.
PGA Tour professionals Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth will also support the effort at the inaugural event.
McIlroy, a four-time major champion who spent 95 weeks as world No 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings between 2012 and 2015, is a past Faldo Series champion.
Spieth is the owner of three major championship titles, including the 2017 Open Championship, and has spent a cumulative 26 weeks at No 1 since 2015.
Other major champions who have committed to support include Annika Sorenstam, Adam Scott, John Daly, Henrik Stenson and Jerry Pate.
