Cape Town - Dylan Frittelli and Erik van Rooyen will represent South Africa at the 2018 World Cup of Golf in Melbourne this week.
This comes after the late withdrawals of Branden Grace and Charl Schwartzel.
Grace and Schwartzel both took part in the Nedbank Golf Challenge last week with Grace advancing through to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Frittelli announced the surprising news on his Instagram on Thursday.
"After a late withdrawal, I was promoted and asked to pick a partner to represent SA. Obviously I chose my man @erikvanrooyen for his dashing beard and long drives," he wrote.
"We'll be headed to Melbourne, Australia on Sunday night after the conclusion of @dpwtc. Come on out, and cheer us on as we try to make SA Proud."
Frittelli, Van Rooyen were part of the six-man SA contingent in the 60-man field at the European Tour finale event in Dubai this past weekend.
South Africa boasts a proud history in the World Cup of Golf, having secured five team titles and four individual trophies.
The first and third days of competition will be played using the fourball (best ball) format and the second and final days as foursomes (alternate shot) play.
The 2018 World Cup of Golf will be contested at the Metropolitan Golf Club in Melbourne from November 22-25.
