It's a boy! Branden Grace is a new dad

Cape Town - South African golfer Branden Grace has become a father for the first time following the birth of his son, Roger.

The 29-year-old took to Twitter on Wednesday to confirm the news to his 45 000 followers.

Grace first announced his wife Nieke's pregnancy after winning the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City last November.

The world No 35 revealed that this was "by far the most special time" in their lives.

Former Springbok wing Bryan Habana, who recently announced his retirement from the game, tweeted his congratulations to Grace, writing: "Geluk meneer. Blessings for this new chapter in your lives."

Grace thanked Habana and also stated that he hoped to see him on the fairways soon.
