Cape Town - The European Challenge Tour will begin it's maiden visit to South Africa when it announced it's 2020 International Schedule on Friday.

The Challenge Tour will co-sanction three events with the Sunshine Tour starting with the Limpopo Championship at Euphoria Golf Club and Koro Creek Golf Club from January 30-February 2.

Followed immediately by the Cape Town Open rom February 6-9 at Royal Cape Golf Club and King David Mowbray Golf Club.

Then the South African leg of the Challenge Tour will end at Fancourt Golf Estate for the Dimension Data Pro-Am from February 13-16.

The winner in George will receive an automatic spot in the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind, Memphis, in July 2020.

The Challenge Tour Grand Final will remain in Mallorca in 2020 and will take place at the T-Golf & Country Club.

Earnings from both the US Open Championship and The Open Championship will count towards the Road to Mallorca rankings.

20 Challenge Tour players have the opportunity to earn their European Tour cards in 2021.

"South Africa will become the 51st country the Challenge Tour has visited when we co-sanction three consecutive events with the Sunshine Tour, which shows the global nature of our tour," said Alain de Soultrait, Director of the European Challenge Tour in a press release.

The Challenge Tour has developed into a proven training ground, where the champions-in-waiting compete across the globe for a place on the European Tour.
