Cape Town - Tiger Woods has filed an entry on Thursday for the 118th US Open Championship, which will be contested at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York on June 14-17.
Woods, who won the US Open in 2000, 2002 and 2008 and was a runner-up twice, has not played in the championship since 2015 at Chambers Bay.
Woods, a nine-time USGA champion who has won 14 major professional titles, has competed in 19 US Opens, including twice (1995, 2004) at Shinnecock Hills.
He played in his first US Open in 1995 but had to withdraw in the second round due to an injury. Woods tied for 17th in 2004.
The next major on @TigerWoods' schedule is the 118th #USOpen! We’re excited to have the three-time champion tee it up at Shinnecock Hills!
