Valhalla to host 2024 PGA Championship

Miami - Valhalla Golf Club was named on Thursday by the PGA of America as host of the 2024 PGA Championship, the fourth major tournament to be hosted by the Louisville, Kentucky, layout.

The 106th PGA Championship will be staged in May 2024 on the Jack Nicklaus-designed course after staging PGA Championships in 2014, 2000 and 1996.

That will pull Valhalla level with Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and 2023 PGA host Oak Hill in Rochester, New York, as the venue to stage the most PGA Championships.

Valhalla also hosted the Ryder Cup in 2008, when the United States defeated Europe 16 1/2-11 1/2.

"We're always proud to return the PGA Championship to Valhalla," said PGA of America President Paul Levy. "It has been a remarkable run and we're anxious to experience just what Valhalla's next chapter has in store."

Earlier this month, the PGA of America awarded the 2027 PGA to Aronimink near Philadelphia and the 2028 edition to The Olympic Club in San Francisco.

Next year's 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis will be the last to be played in August as the event moves to May in 2019, when Bethpage Black near New York will be the host course.

Other future PGA sites include San Francisco's Harding Park in 2020, Kiawah Island in 2021 and Trump National Golf Club - owned by US President Donald Trump - at Bedminster, New Jersey, in 2022.
