Jason Dufner signs strange new sponsorship deal

Cape Town - Not every sponsorship deal on the PGA Tour has to be for equipment or clothing. Just ask Jason Dufner, who has chosen to start promoting 'Dude Wipes'.

That's right - the former PGA champion has just inked a new deal that will see him promote a company that manufactures flushable wipes for adults.

Dufner certainly isn't the first golfer to sign a weird sponsorship deal, with PGA Tour pros having chosen to promote everything from children's toys to beef jerky.

Dude Wipes appears to be trying to corner the lucrative baby wipe market for men, if indeed such a market exists.

“Back in the day, we always hated using toilet paper, the stuff stinks," says the company's website.

"We believed life should be better - something had to be done. So we went to work, creating Dude Wipes out of our apartment. Soon the Dude movement was born, with flushable wipes for on-the-go and at home sh--uations."

Last season, Dufner also caused a bit of stir when, left without a sponsorship for his hat, he started wearing various baseball caps with strange logos and slogans on them.

As for his new deal with Dude Wipes, who knows, the product might just catch on, even if the prospect of grown men carrying them around en masse seems a little far-fetched.
