Day signs with Nike

Cape Town - Jason Day has reportedly signed a lucrative apparel deal with Nike, while he has chosen to stay with TaylorMade clubs.

The sports industry giant caught many by surprise in August when the company announced it would cease making golf clubs.

However, Nike is still very much involved with golf and will be hoping the world number one can keep them in the spotlight.

It is a lucrative deal for the Australian, with reports suggesting he will take home over $10 million a year from donning the iconic swoosh.

Meanwhile, Day also signed a contract with equipment company TaylorMade, the details of which will be revealed soon.

Nike still has the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods on their books, though it is not clear for how much longer.
