Double trouble for McIlroy

Cape Town - With the golf world at his feet, Rory McIlroy proved at the BMW Championship that he is indeed human. Twice.

Rory McIlroy has had a stellar year on the the PGA Tour this year, where he has won two majors, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship. The golfing sensation currently sits in fourth place in the race to the FedEx Cup (where the winner walks away with a cool $10 million!) and he has a season average of 68.33 shots per 18 holes.

McIlroy has made $7 572 096 this season. But what happens when things go wrong?

During the third round at the BMW Championship, McIlroy made a complete hash of the par-3 12th hole. He hit his 29-foot chip shot onto green to about 9 feet and that is when disaster struck. The world number one needed FOUR more putts to get the ball in the hole and walk to the 13th hole with a triple bogey SIX on his scorecard.

Don't believe it? Then take a look:

Lightning struck twice when McIlroy made a mess of the same 12th hole in the final round! Again!
