Cape Town - South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen on Thursday pulled out of the 100th PGA Championship at the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.

LIVE: 100th PGA Championship - Round 1

Oosthuizen withdrew less than an hour before his scheduled tee time, giving American Kelly Kraft a spot in the field at Bellerive.

The official announcement was made about 10 minutes before Oosthuizen's scheduled tee time, though Kraft had been warming up in case he got a chance. He joined a group along with Thomas Pieters and Bill Haas.

Oosthuizen's withdrawal means there are only five South Africans remaining in the field: Charl Schwartzel, Branden Grace, Brandon Stone, Dylan Frittelli and Justin Harding.
