Louis off to solid start at PGA Champs

Cape Town - South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen started well on the first day of the PGA Championship at Baltusrol in Springfield, America on Thursday.

Oosthuizen, the 2010 Open Championship winner, fired a two under par 68 and currently shares ninth spot on the leaderboard, three shots behind leader Jimmy Walker from America.

Branden Grace shot an even par 70 and currently sits tied for 36th position.

South African-born Johan Kok, one of the American teaching professionals who qualified for the year’s final major, shot a two over par 72 for a share of 81st position. He shares that position with South Africa's George Coetzee.

Ernie Els and Charl Schwartzel are tied for 107th after shooting three over par 73s, while Brandon Stone a torrid time of things, shooting a nine over par 79 for a share of 154th spot.
