Branden Grace SA's best at Baltusrol

Cape Town - Branden Grace once again finished best of the South African contingent at the year’s fourth and final major, the PGA Championship at Baltusrol.

Grace shot a final round of 3-under par 67 to finish in a tie for fourth on 9-under par, five shots behind champion, American Jimmy Walker.

Grace, up to 10th in the world rankings, banked a cool $405 000 (R5.6 million) for his efforts.

Louis Oosthuizen (-4) was the next best South African, finishing tied for 22nd. Oosthuizen took home $75 636.36 (R1m).

Charl Schwartzel (-2, tied for 42nd) pocketed $30 142.85 (R415 000), George Coetzee (+1, tied for 60th) won $20 000 (R275 000) and veteran Ernie Els (+2, tied for 66th) collected $18 500 (R250 000) for his four days work.

Brandon Stone, who will represent SA at the Rio Olympics, and South African-born Johan Kok both missed the cut.
