Local pro's make Open picks

Cape Town - Round 1 of golf's oldest major is underway at Hoylake and golf fans across the globe are glued to their screens engrossed in the action.

SCOREBOARD: Open Championship - Round 1

But who will be victorious after 72 holes at Hoylake?

Sport24 asked Sunshine Tour pro's Oliver Bekker and Justin Harding to nail their colours to the mast and decide who they are backing to lift the claret jug on Sunday afternoon.

Not the worst picks by Bekker.

Harding went with pre-tournament favourite Tiger Woods to repeat his 2006 success at Royal Liverpool.

Harding also had a little dig at Bekker's picks.

Earlier, South African legend Gary Player weighed in with his opinion. Click here to see who the Black Knight is backing.
