Garcia leads as Oosthuizen lurks in Sun City

Cape Town - Spaniard Sergio Garcia maintained his lead after the second round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City on Friday.

LEADERBOARD: Nedbank Golf Challenge - Round 2

Garcia, who led by four shots leading into day two, shot a 1-under 71 to sit at 9-under at the Gary Player Country Club.

The two-time Nedbank Golf Challenge winner leads by one shot heading into the weekend with South African Louis Oosthuizen the closest challenger.

Oosthuizen struck five birdies, a double bogey and an eagle to fire a 5-under par 67 and lie in second-place at 8-under. 

Chart Schwartzel had a day to forget as he shot a 7-over par 79 - including a 10 at the par-4 15th hole.

Defending champion Branden Grace couldn't capitalise on birdie opportunities as he scored a 1-under 71 in his second round to sit T8 at 3-under par.

South Africa's Dylan Frittelli is T4 after posting a 5-under par 67 in the second round.
