Bookies Bet.co.za have installed the world No 3 at 3/1 to hold off the star-studded field assembled for the 31st playing of Africa's 'Major' at the Gary Player Country Club, starting on Thursday.

To date, only five golfers - Seve Ballesteros, David Frost, Nick Price, Ernie Els and Jim Furyk - have managed to defend their title.

World No 1, England's Luke Donald can be backed at 4/1, with Germany's Martin Kaymer on offer at 5/1.

South Africa's sole representative, Charl Schwartzel, looks to be an attractive proposition at 6/1 to finish his Masters-winning year on a high.

Latest odds (subject to change):

Lee Westwood 3/1
Luke Donald 4/1
Martin Kaymer 5/1
Charl Schwartzel 6/1
Graeme McDowell 14/1
Anders Hansen 14/1
Robert Karlsson 18/1
Francesco Molinari 18/1
Simon Dyson 20/1
Jason Dufner 28/1
Kim Kyung-Tae 28/1
Darren Clarke 33/1

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
