Serena in tears, thanks 'buddy' Tiger

Augusta - Serena Williams, arguably the greatest ever female tennis player, has heaped praise on Tiger Woods, arguably the greatest golfer of all time.

Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam winner, took to Twitter shortly after Woods claimed the 83rd Masters at Augusta National on Sunday.

Woods turned back the clock to claim his first Major since the US Open in 2008 - and his first Masters title since 2005.

Woods' Major tally now stands at 15, just three shy of Jack Nicklaus' all-time record of 18.

Williams wrote, "I am literally in tears watching @TigerWoodsthis is Greatness like no other. Knowing all you have been through physically to come back and do what you just did today? Wow Congrats a million times! I am so inspired thank you buddy."
