Reed serves up hearty Masters Champions Dinner menu

Cape Town - Defending Masters champion Patrick Reed had promised to "fatten those boys up a little" with his Champions Dinner menu at Augusta National on Tuesday - and from the look of things, he delivered on his promise.

Reed, who won the 2018 tournament by two strokes from Australian Marc Leishman, served prime bone-in cowboy ribeye for the main course along with two salad options - a Caesar Salad and a Wedge Salad - as well as a collection of creamy side dishes, including macaroni and cheese and corn crème brûlée.

The Masters tweeted a photo commemorating the annual event, with Reed featured front and centre, surrounded by 32 fellow members of one of the most exclusive clubs in all of sports.

Among those present were three South African past Masters champions: Gary Player (winner in 1961, 1974 and 1978), Trevor Immelman (2008) and Charl Schwartzel (2011).

In addition, the Masters also tweeted an unprecedented mouth-watering inside look at the preparations for the dinner, as well as a picture of the menu signed by everyone in the room.

The 83rd edition of the Masters at the famed Augusta National will begin officially on Thursday at 14:30 SA time.

Prior to that, the Par-3 Contest will be held on Wednesday.
