Oosthuizen tops among South Africans at Masters

Cape Town - Louis Oosthuizen was the top performing South African at the past weekend’s Masters at Augusta National.

Oosthuizen shot a three-under par 69 in Sunday’s final round to finish 6-under par (282) - good enough for a share of 12th spot.

His compatriot Branden Grace, meanwhile, shot a commendable five-under par 67 on Sunday to finish 1-under par over the four rounds (287) and a share of 24th spot.

The three other South Africans who took part - Charl Schwartzel, Dylan Frittelli and Trevor Immelman - failed to make the cut after the first two rounds.

American Patrick Reed won the Masters, finishing on 15-under par (273) to claim his first major.
