Paris - World number one Justin Thomas will play in the June 28-July 1 France Open, on the same Albatross course that will host the Ryder Cup in September, organisers said on Tuesday.
Thomas, 25 dethroned fellow American Dustin Johnson, who had led the rankings for 64 weeks, after finishing tied for 11th at the Players Championship on Sunday.
Le Golf National, at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, southwest of Paris, was chosen as the first French venue to host the Ryder Cup.
Up against Thomas will be Spain's current world number four Jon Rahm and England's defending France Open champion Tommy Fleetwood.
