Madrid - Defending champion Jon Rahm was two shots off the pace after the second round of the Spanish Open on Friday as compatriots Adri Arnaus and bogey-free Rafael Cabrera-Bello shared the lead.

Arnaus, in his rookie European Tour season, fired a 66 for a two-round score of 131, with former Ryder Cup star Cabrera-Bello adding a 65 on Friday to also be 11 under.

World No 1 413 Samuel Del Val is a shot further back with Rahm carding a 67 for a two-round 133.

Cabrera-Bello, who has three European Tour wins to his name, carved out a career first by playing his opening 36 holes bogey free.

"You don't get to go bogey free very often and two days in a row - I'm not sure how many times I've done that," the 35-year-old told europeantour.com.

"I'm very pleased with how I'm playing, I'm feeling confident out there and in control of my game."

South African Zander Lombard was at eight under after a second consecutive 67, a shot clear of Finland's Mikko Korhonen, Australian Jason Scrivener and German Marcel Siem.

Norway's Kristian Krogh Johannessen, who was the overnight leader, Italian Nino Bertasio, England's Steven Brown, Swede Per Langfors and Spaniard Adrian Otaegui were five shots off the lead.

Sergio Garcia carded a second successive 69 to be seven shots off the lead.
