Double delight for McIlroy

Dubai - Rory McIlroy ended his season by winning the $8 million DP World Tour Championship - his fourth title of the year - on Sunday and retained his Race to Dubai crown to become the European number one for second straight year.

At the Earth course of Jumeirah Golf Estates, the world number three from Northern Ireland made a Dubai double after a final-round six-under par 66 to beat overnight leader Andy Sullivan of England by one shot.

England's Danny Willet (70) was tied fourth in the tournament at 13-under par 275 while South African Branden Grace (67), who also had a chance to win the Race to Dubai, was third at 273.

The battle for the Rookie of the Year was won by Korea's Byeong-hun An (71), who finished tied fourth at 13-under par 275 - the same as his closest rival at the start of the week, England's Matthew Fitzpatrick (70).
