The Citizens are set to welcome Kaizer Chiefs to Cape Town Stadium on Saturday for an Absa Premiership Woza Nazo showdown before travelling to Soweto for a midweek clash against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday, September 19.

McCarthy's side will then prepare for the MTN8 final against SuperSport United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, September 29.

Three days later, City return to Cape Town Stadium for a Premiership meeting against Wits on Tuesday, October 2.

"The next four games plays a massive role ... plays a massive part in our progress," said McCathy, in an exclusive interview with Sport24.

"It's all the big boys that are coming, it is a great tester for the players as well because there is no motivation for these four games and they are not easy.

"Chiefs, Pirates, SuperSport and Wits they are all very tough and very competitive games.

"I'm going to need to try an mix up my teams, to give players enough rest and recovery time."
