Cape Town - Former South African captain Kepler Wessels will make his debut as a match referee in Australia this month.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald website, Wessels will oversee Women's National Cricket League matches in Brisbane on Friday and Sunday.
The 61-year-old SuperSport commentator is currently on Cricket Australia's supplementary referees panel.
Wessels played 24 Tests for Australia and then made 16 Test appearances with South Africa in the post-apartheid era.
Wessels will also be in charge of a tour match between a Cricket Australia XI and the touring South African side in November in Brisbane.
The Proteas will be in Australia at the end of October and beginning of November when they play a warm-up match and four ODIs.
This will be the first time the two sides will meet since the infamous ball-tampering scandal Test series, which occurred in March.
