WATCH: Maxwell smashes ball into spider cam

Cape Town - Australia's Glenn Maxwell is considered one of the most unpredictable batsmen in world cricket, and he lived up to that reputation on Wednesday in the opening T20I against India in Brisbane.

LIVE: Australia v India, 1st T20I

With Australia batting first and with the score 150/3, Maxwell went after a delivery from India's Krunal Pandya.

It may have gone for six, or it may have been caught, but we will never know.

Instead, the ball rocketed straight into the spider camera that films proceedings from above the wicket.

The umpires were forced to signal a 'dead ball' and the delivery was bowled again.

Footage captured by Fox was then used on the Cricket.com.au Twitter page, and the images captured by the camera as the ball comes flying towards it make for some viewing.
