Kohli blows kisses to Root after running him out

Cape Town - There was some controversy on day one of the first Test between England and India at Edgbaston on Thursday.

With England seemingly in control, Indian captain Virat Kohli produced a direct hit to run out England captain Joe Root on 88.

With a deft turn and throw, Kohli threw down the stumps with Root well short of his ground.

What followed, however, might land the Indian captain in hot water.

Kohli proceeded to first blow kisses to the departing Root before mimicking the England captain's 'mic drop' century celebrations from the third and deciding one-day international played between the two teams last month.

Reports suggest that Kohli may have sworn at Root as well.

England finished Day 1 on 285/9.
