Von Berg leaves Titans, moves to Knights

Cape Town - All-rounder Shaun von Berg has left the Titans to join the Knights for the 2019/20 season.

According to the Titans' website, Von Berg has spend 10 years playing for the Northerns and Titans and has take over 400 wickets across all formats for the franchise.

"Ten years goes by very quickly," said Von Berg.

"I was very proud to represent the Titans, and I will always look back at this part of my life with great fondness. So many friends, not just in the team, but with all the support staff and people who work in the offices."

Looking back on his career, Von Berg said that captaining the side was a great privilege, as was winning so many trophies.

"It was a great period of Titans success, especially in the past five years. I was proud to lead the side for a part of that, because there were some special cricketers who played for this team," he said.

Now, as he moves to the Knights and Von Berg is looking forward to coming back to Centurion as a rival.

"It will be different, walking into the other dressing room at SuperSport Park. But, in saying that, I really look forward to coming back and testing myself against some very good cricketers," he ended.

The Titans wish Von Berg all the best in his future endeavours.

"Shaun was a model professional during his time here, and we will always look back at his time here with great pleasure," Titans CEO, Dr Jacques Faul commented.

"The Knights have gained a great team man, and he still has a lot to offer the game."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
