Cape Town - Former Proteas all-rounder Albie Morkel announced his retirement on Wednesday from all forms of cricket.
The 37-year-old said that "time was running out" and that this was the right moment to hang up his boots after 20 years of service to the game.
He represented his country in 1 Test, 58 One-Day Internationals and 50 T20 Internationals between 2004 and 2015.
Here's how Twitter reacted to Albie Morkel's retirement:
Congratulations @albiemorkel on your retirement. Wishing you all the best for the future. Thank you for the many years you have given to our beautiful game. https://t.co/YAOeayybSS

Saddened by the retirement of @albiemorkel, who will be remembered as one of the most watchable South African limited-overs cricketers, especially for that l-o-o-o-o-n-g hitting. Might have played more for SA, but had a very good life in the game anyway.
