Steyn, Rossouw in the money at Pakistan Super League draft

Cape Town - Proteas fast bowler Dale Steyn has been bought by Islamabad United for next year's Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Steyn and former Proteas team-mate Colin Ingram were bought by United as Platinum players in last weekend's draft.

Platinum players are paid a minimum of £125 000 (R2.4m) and a maximum of £195 000 (R3.7m).

Dolphins all-rounder Cameron Delport was placed in the gold category and was bought by the Karachi Kings.

Delport has been in fine form during the ongoing Mzansi Super League and is currently the fifth-highest run-scorer, making 246 runs in his nine games thus far for the Paarl Rocks.

Meanwhile, the Multan Sultans secured the signature of former Proteas batsman Rilee Rossouw as a platinum player.

Proteas all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius was snagged by the Peshawar Zalmi's as a silver category player.

Former Proteas all-rounder David Wiese was the only South African retained by his franchise, the Lahore Qalandars ahead of the player draft.

Proteas duo Imran Tahir (Multan Sultans) and Rassie van der Dussen (Islamabad United) have signed up as supplementary players.

The 2020 PSL is scheduled to get under way from February 20-March 22.

This fifth season of the tournament will be held entirely in Pakistan.
