Cape Town - Former captain Angelo Mathews and Kusal Perera will be considered for Sri Lanka's tour to India later this month after both players recovered from injury.
Both players will be welcomed back, especially in limited-overs cricket, with Sri Lanka now having lost 16 consecutive white-ball matches after their T20I series in Lahore.
Mathews and Kusal missed the entire Pakistan series, Tests and limited-overs games, but will bring much needed batting experience and stability to the line-up.
The 30-year-old Mathews missed the Pakistan tour with a calf injury he picked in training while allrounder Asela Gunaratne has also recovered from a thumb fracture.
Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley De Silva said: "Angelo and Kusal Janith [Perera] have both recovered and they will be considered for selection for the Indian series. Asela Gunaratne is fit as well."
Sri Lank will go on a full tour of India with three Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is on the schedule. The first Test is set to start on 16 November at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
