Cape Town - Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has joined the English county club, Hampshire for four T20 Blasts matches.
According to Hampshire's website, Shamsi was brought in following the injuries to spinners Mason Crane and Brad Taylor.
The 29-year-old will join the squad on Thursday ahead of their clash against Middlesex at Lords.
Shamsi has played 2 Tests, 17 ODIs and 14 T20Is for the Proteas to date since making his international breakthrough in 2016.
"Shamsi bolsters the squad and offers an excellent spin option with international experience for the final four fixtures of our Vitality Blast campaign - we're looking forward to having him with us..." Hampshire's Director Of Cricket, Giles White said, as quoted by their website.
Hampshire are sixth in the Southern Division of the T20 Blast standings after only winning 3 of their 10 games.
The top four teams from each division advance through to the playoffs.
