Morgan warns players not to lose focus

London - England captain Eoin Morgan has cautioned his players against switching off during any potential rain delays, lest they return to the middle against Sri Lanka and find themselves outmatched.

The sides play in the fourth ODI at The Oval on Wednesday, with the hosts leading the series one-nil. The first match was a tie, and the third was rained off in Bristol. Weather threatens London again this time.

Morgan said of the weather: "It's certainly going to be one of the challenges over the next couple of games we play.

"With a lot of weather (rain) around, that is always a huge challenge that it doesn't become a distraction – and to switch on when we need to.

"We want to play as much cricket as we can, and I suppose (the weather) has halted a little bit of the momentum we've had."

A win at The Oval will see England take an unassailable two-nil lead, with the final game to be played at Cardiff on 2 July.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
