Lyon: I've got no problem with Kohli

Cape Town - Australia spinner Nathan Lyon has said that he would have no problem with India skipper Virat Kohli after the heated Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series.

Tempers flared throughout the highly competitive series and when all was said and done India refused an invitation to have a drink with the Australian team.

India felt that some of the things said and done by Australia during the series, such as Steve Smith's DRS brain-fade and the mockery of Kohli's shoulder injury, had crossed the line.

Lyon feels there is no harm in being nice off the field but doesn't really expect Kohli to be friendly with him.

"I am the type of guy who will play hard on the field and compete very hard but I am more than happy to talk to anyone off the field," he said.

"I am more than happy to shake his hand and say hello to him, that is for sure.

"There is no harm in being nice."

Lyon believes that Kohli is a player who is heavily emotionally invested in the game and lauded his ability to fire up a crowd.

He added: "He gets a crowd up behind him over in India, but that is who he is.

"I don't think Virat will give me a Christmas card though (laughs)."

Kohli returned to action for the first time since the third Test on Friday April 14, striking a half century in a losing effort against the Gujarat Lions.
