Cape Town - England great Kevin Pietersen has voiced his disapproval at Judge Thokozile Mosipa's decision to hand Oscar Pistorius a six-year prison sentence for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp.
Pietersen has been vocal on his desire to see Pistorius punished with a harsh sentence, saying earlier that they should "throw away the key" after locking him up, and on Wednesday he was not pleased with the six-year sentence.
The South African-born batsman tweeted his frustrations to his 3.14 million followers, labeling the sentence a "shambles".
Pistorius shot and killed Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013.
He maintains that he pulled the trigger under the impression that there were intruders in his Waterkloof home.
He has opted not to appeal the sentence.
Earlier in the day, Pietersen had called for "justice to be served."
Will justice be served or will there be another shambles in the #OscarPistorius case today? #SentenceDay #ThrowTheKeyAway ??

Pietersen wasn't the only sports star to voice an opinion following the sentencing.Judge Masipa should have left her chair, walked down to #OscarPistorius, shook his hand & given him a hug too! #Pathetic #Shambles

In a first world country like the USA, someone got 30 years for attempted murder, in SA you get 6 for murder!
