Kleinveldt to assist Paul Adams at WP

Cape Town - Former Proteas all-rounder Rory Kleinveldt will act as interim assistant coach for Western Province (WP) in the 3-Day Provincial Cup.

According to clubcricket.co.za, Kleinveldt will be with WP in the absence of Dieter Swanepoel, who is currently with the Paarl Rocks in the ongoing Mzansi Super League.

Kleinveldt will assist his former team-mate and WP head coach Paul Adams ahead of WP's clash against Northern Cape in Kimberley this week

The 13-man squad features Proteas batsman Zubayr Hamza and Cobras quartet Pieter Malan, *Matthew Kleinveldt, Jason Smith and Tladi Bokako.

"We have shown character when you look at the manner which we have managed to bounce back. The players and management have rallied together to find ways to grind out results for the badge," said Adams.

"The addition of franchise players has boosted the morale of the group, not only on the field but also in the changeroom. The young players have also taken well to the experience that the older players have brought to the fore."

Western Province squad:

Qaasim Adams (captain), Tladi Bokako, Junaid Dawood, Isaac Dikgale, Justin Dill, Zubayr Hamza, Ryan Klein, Matthew Kleinveldt, Andre Malan, Pieter Malan, Sisonke Mazele, Mthiwekhaya Nabe, Jason Smith
