Cape Town - Gary Kirsten has been sacked as coach of Indian Premier League outfit, Delhi Daredevils, ESPNcricinfo reports.
Kirsten was appointed as Daredevils coach on a three-year deal in September 2013, but he has been shown the door after just two seasons in charge.
Under Kirsten's tutelage, the Daredevils won only seven out of 28 matches, with 20 defeats across the two seasons.
They finished last in the 2014 IPL season and second from bottom in 2015.
Kirsten, a former India and South Africa coach, played 101 Tests for the Proteas, scoring 7 289 runs at an average of 45.27.
He is highly regarded in India, having coached them to the Cricket World Cup title on home soil in 2011.
