Cape Town - Former Proteas Gary Kirsten and Herschelle Gibbs are reportedly on the shortlist to coach the Indian women's team.
Indian Ramesh Power, who had been serving as the side's interim manager, is also on the shortlist for the full-time gig.
According to Cricinfo, the BCCI worked with an initial pool of 28 applicants for the position, which will see the new coach sign on for two years.
Kirsten, having coached the Indian men's side to the Cricket World Cup trophy in 2011, will be considered one of the favourites.
Dimitri Mascarenhas, Brad Hogg and Trent Johnston are others who have made the shortlist.
Former India cricketers Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy will be interviewing the candidates.
