Hollywoodbets, Dolphins set to dazzle KZN cricket

Durban – The Dolphins and Hollywoodbets have joined forces in an exciting partnership that sees the betting agency assume the KwaZulu-Natal franchise’s title sponsorship for the upcoming 2016/17 domestic cricket season.

After signing a ground-breaking three-year associate sponsorship deal ahead of the start of last season, the home grown KZN business and the province’s flagship cricket team have now boosted their association in a move that is set to add to the energy and excitement at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead.

“We are thrilled to take on the Dolphins title sponsorship for the 2016/17 season,” says Hollywoodbets Media and Communications Executive, Devin Heffer.

“From sponsoring club cricket and community-based soccer teams, our involvement with the Dolphins was a big step up for us last season.

“Once we had enjoyed a taste of what sponsoring a big brand like the Dolphins could mean we wanted more and we jumped at the chance to become title sponsor.

“Our team likes to create a winning atmosphere wherever we go, and we tackle all our relationships and projects with enthusiasm,” said Heffer.

“That’s why we created the #DolFanArmy, a group of supporters dedicated to supporting the Dolphins wherever they are around the country. The #DolFanArmy definitely created a fun vibe at stadiums across the nation, in particular the Dolphins’ home ground, Sahara Stadium Kingsmead."

Dolphins Acting CEO, Rajesh Behari, said that approaching Hollywoodbets was an obvious option once the previous sponsorship agreement had ended.

“In just one season, Hollywoodbets left a telling mark on not only the Dolphins but the entire cricket landscape and we can’t wait to see them build on that foundation,” says Behari.

“It is a great fit to have Hollywoodbets on board as the title sponsors, and we are sure that the partnership will prove to be a fruitful one.”

Heffer stressed that Hollywoodbets was a Durban-based institution, where the bulk of its operations are based, making the association a logical one.

Hollywoodbets is the first South African betting company to become the title sponsor of a franchise sports team.

Heffer added that the company remained fiercely committed to upholding the image of the sport and to ensuring that cricket is free of any corrupt practices.

KZN Cricket Union President, Fa-eez Jaffar said that “we are delighted to have Hollywoodbets on board and trust that this will be a lasting partnership aiding cricket in our province”.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins get their season underway with a Sunfoil Series clash against the Warriors at Buffalo Park, East London from October 5-8.
