Gibbs off to winning start ... as Kuwait coach

Cape Town - Former Proteas star Herschelle Gibbs is off to a winning start as coach of Kuwait.

In their first match in the ICC World Twenty20 Asian Sub Regional Qualifier, Kuwait beat the Maldives by 102 runs.

ICC World Twenty20 Asian Sub Regional Qualifiers, from April 20-26 in Kuwait and Qatar, is the tournament played as part of the 2020 ICC World Twenty20 qualification which will eventually determine those to compete in the 2020

Batting first, Kuwait posted 170/4 in their allotted 20 overs, then bowled out the Maldives for 68 in 16.4 overs.

Kuwait will play Qatar in their second match on Saturday.

Gibbs, 44, played 90 Tests, 248 ODIs and 23 T20 internationals for the Proteas.
