Cape Town - Ex-Proteas batsman Herschelle Gibbs and West Indies legend Brian Lara will play for the Legends XI in a T20 match against Big Bash champions Perth Scorchers next month.
Gibbs and Lara will join Australian greats Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, Glenn McGrath, Justin Langer and Andrew Symonds - as well as England great Andrew Flintoff - in the Legends XI to play the Scorchers during the WA Festival of Cricket at Aquinas College in Perth on December 11.
Lara starred in last year’s Festival of Cricket T20, scoring an unbeaten 51 in front of a bumper crowd at Aquinas College, in a match the Perth Scorchers ultimately won by 50 runs.
