CSA congratulates Proteas women on series win

Cape Town - Cricket South Africa (CSA) congratulated the Protea women's team on their T20 International Series win over West Indies after they won the decider in the three-match series by four runs at PPC Newlands on Wednesday.

The South Africans were restricted in their innings to 119/3 in their 20 overs but then fought a superb rearguard action to limit their visitors to 115/8.

“This series win is very special and captain Mignon du Preez and all the players as well as coach Hilton Moreeng and his management team deserves many congratulations,” commented CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat.

“This success is the perfect confidence boost the Momentum women's team can enjoy the day before they depart to India for the ICC World Twenty20.

“They have shown superb growth over the past two years and their performances in this and the preceding series against England are just reward for their hard work.

“Their fielding today was inspirational with several outstanding catches being taken, most notably the left-handed one by Moseline Daniels which was every bit as good as the right-handed catch Kagiso Rabada took at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium three days ago.

“Once again I must give credit to Momentum for their support which allowed our women's team to become a truly professional one.”

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
