Billings warns England to brace for turn

London - England ODI batsman Sam Billings has warned the Test outfit to expect to have their credentials against spin thoroughly examined in India.

England struggled to cope with turn in Bangladesh with rookie spinner Mehedi Hasan taking 19 wickets in the two Tests ably backed up by Shakib-al-Hasan.

The Kent batsman told Sky Sports: "No doubt, they're a seriously good side and they've got lots of superstars but I think if any side can beat them at the moment then it's us.

"The strength in depth in English cricket that we currently have is great to see, in Test matches and in white-ball cricket as well.

"We have to practice playing spin, we have to be getting out there and get used to the pitches.

"I spent three months in India last year with the IPL and the World Cup and it's all about getting the rhythm of those pitches and getting adjusted to it because it's so different to what we're used to playing on at home."

Michael Vaughan urged the England selector's to consider Billings for a Test call up, rating him as the best player of spin in the country.

England have taken the same Test group to India as played in Bangladesh but it remains to be seen if they will make any additions or changes to the group with James Anderson expected to join up with the team should he be fit enough.
