Cape Town - Australia's Test skipper Tim Paine has stressed that at this stage he has only been appointed captain of the longest format.
With Steve Smith and David Warner both suspended for their involvement in the ball tampering scandal that has rocked Australian cricket the ODI and T20I outfits remain without a set skipper.

While Australia's next Test assignment will be a trip to the UAE to face Pakistan in September or October the more immediate concern is a limited overs tour to the UK that will form part of the team's preparation for the defense of their World Cup title, with the tournament to be staged in England and Wales in 2019.
Paine has said that he has not been privy to any discussions regarding the make-up of the white ball squads for the tour and does not know if he will lead or even be part of the teams.
Speaking from Hobart, Paine said: "(I'm) just the Test captain at this stage.
"There's a one-day team that will be announced in the next two or three weeks and I'm sure those discussions are going on behind closed doors."
Opener Aaron Finch is still considered a white ball specialist, despite a bid to break into the Test team, and is considered one of the leading candidates for the position.
Paine could yet be asked to lead but the selectors may take the opportunity to divide leadership responsibilities and manage the workload of the newly appointed Test captain.
The Tasmanian did not play in Australia's most recent T20 series and there is some suggestion that young South Australia keeper Alex Carey will don the gloves in the green and gold kits of the limited overs squads.
