R1m for a catch? Not quite!

Cape Town - Two young cricket fans at the Wanderers were left disappointed on Sunday after learning they would not come into consideration for R1m after taking catches in the stands.

Three RAM SLAM T20 matches took place at the Wanderers on Sunday and fans were informed that should they take a catch in the stands, they would could win R1m at the end of the competition.

However, what these two fans didn't know was they had to be over 18 to be eligible for the prize.

According to Netwerk24, Liam Banks (17) and Arno Kotze (15) both took spectacular catches in the stands and were under the impression that they would come into consideration for the R1m.

Both were visibly disappointed when organisers informed them that they were too young.

A spokesperson for the sponsors said the information was relayed to fans by the stadium announcer but said that "few people really listen to what the announcer says".
