Cricket fan gets shot at R1m!

Cape Town - An elated cricket fan has won a share of a whopping R1m, during Sunday's RAM SLAM T20 Challenge match at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom.

Heralding a first in arguably one of the most popular cricket tournaments in the country, this year sponsoring partners of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge, Ram Hand to Hand Couriers took a decision to award R1m to any attendee over 18 years of age, who catches a six with one hand during a televised match.

That is exactly what Bosman Puren from Potchefstroom managed to achieve during the match between the Knights and the Highveld Lions, as he caught the coveted ball off the bat of Pite van Biljon from the Knights. “The RAM SLAM is a brilliant experience. I’m fortunate to have caught that one. I’m still flabbergasted. Thank you!” said 35-year-old self-employed Bosman Puren.

If other fans are able to achieve the same at any of the other televised games, the R1m will be split equally. Alternately, if that fails to happen, Puren will be R1m.

The RAM SLAM T20 Challenge continues to show exciting growth as interest both locally and abroad is intensifying.

“That was a great catch by Bosman Puren! We are so delighted that someone caught the six at this match. Now it is an exciting game of waiting, to see if another fan is able to do the same, or if Bosman will be sole winner of the million rand. We wish him all the best,” said RAM SLAM to Hand Couriers Joint MD Graeme Lazarus.
