Johannesburg - The Titans sealed a home semi-final in the Twenty20 Challenge on Wednesday with a bonus-point eight-wicket triumph over Eastern Cape Warriors in a rain-shortened game.

Titans host Central Knights Sunday at SuperSport Park in Centurion beside the Johannesburg-Pretoria highway in the lone semi-final with the winners playing Highveld Lions at the Wanderers for the title in Johannesburg seven days later.

Warriors made 64-6 in 13.1 overs and Titans were set a target of 60 runs in 8.4 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis method to secure a bonus point and climb above the Knights into second place on the final standings.

After the shock of losing opener Henry Davids for one off the second ball, the home team hit out with Martin van Jaarsveld (23) and unbeaten duo Faf du Plessis (22) and Farhaan Behardien (13) hitting the vital runs.

Titans reached 61-2 off 7.5 overs - five balls ahead of target - as they seek a second domestic title this season having won the four-day championship last month.

Pre-Challenge favourites Cape Cobras suffered a third loss in six days, losing by six wickets to the Dolphins at Kingsmead in Durban, where undefeated batsmen Daryn Smit (40) and David Miller (34) were the match-winners.

Rain and lightning brought an early end to the drawn top-versus-bottom clash of the Lions and The New Age Impi at Willowmoore Park after Englishmen Luke Wright (45) and Paul Collingwood (16 not out) had impressed with the bat.
